Alejandro González Iñárritu Wins Best Director Again

El director Mexicano, Alejandro González Iñárritu wins best director for second year in a row! Iñárritu was the favourite for the award, despite strong competition from the likes of Tom McCarthy for Spotlight and Adam McKay for The Big Short.

The Revenant is based on a novel by Michael Punke in which Leonardo DiCaprio starts as a 19th-century frontiersman Hugh Glass, who is left for dead in the wilderness after a bear attack. At the end of his speech Iñárritu spoke out about equality in Hollywood and when on to say, “make sure once and forever that the color of the skin becomes as irrelevant as the length of our hair.”

Nuevamente el talento Latino demuestra que puede tener éxito en Hollywood! Qué mas nos espera de Iñárritu en el futuro? He won 3 Oscars last year including Best Director, Best Picture, and Original Screenplay for Bird Man.
