Chivas USA Soccer Club Accused of Discriminating

With the recent news that the Chivas USA will cease operations after the season is over, and now a lawsuit states the club owner discriminated against non-Mexican employees and authorized the hiring of undocumented coaches. Wait what, I think this is the first time I hear of an employer discriminating against non Latinos. Usually it’s the other way around. Two former coaches have filed a lawsuit against Major League Soccer team Chivas USA. Daniel Calichman and Theothoros Chronopoulos, who worked as part of the team’s player development program accused team owner Jorge Vergara Madrigal of Mexico of his racist employment policies. According to the lawsuit, Vergara has implemented the racist practice of hiring Latino only employees. The two coaches, both former pros and members of the U.S. national team, are seeking unspecified damages for discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination.
