Color fills the skies of Latin America.

A hot air balloon festival, is perhaps one of the most beautiful shows that a human being can observe, during a couple of days the sky is full of color.

These festivals are held annually in many places throughout  the world , allowing hot air balloons to gather and participate in various activities. They can include races, evening “night glows”, in which balloons are fired while remaining tethered to the ground.

Festivals of this type are often driven by councils, governments or cultural associations designed to promote the use of the hot air balloon. They are often found in popular festivities and tend to attract the attention of thousands of tourists or locals so they can get near, watch or ride in these curious aircraft

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the world’s largest hot air balloon festival, takes place each October, where you’ll see hundreds of balloons in the sky at one time. This magical hot air balloon festival is considered to be the most photographed events in the world, drawing a huge international crowd of balloonists and spectators. The 43rd annual Balloon Fiesta will be held on October 4th – 12th, 2014.

Welcome to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

The International Balloon Festival in León, Guanajuato Mexico, was founded in 2002, starting with the participation of 27 hot air balloons in its first edition.

The IBF has continued to grow since its first edition. In 11 years, the IBF has gathered nearly 2 million spectators that keep coming back to this great event every year.

The León International Balloon Festival is currently the biggest and most important in Latin America, and one of the most renowned around the world. In 2012, the IBF featured 200 hot air balloons and pilots from 15 different countries that were seen by over 375,000 spectators. 

On November 15th to 18th, 2013, the IBF is back and will feature 200 hot air balloons from around the world, 25 of these will be special shaped balloons.

Especial Festival Internacional Del Globo León Guanajuato

Argentina is not to far behind from Mexico with its own festival. Balloon Trophy is held in  Los Cardales, Buenos Aires Argentina and takes place every May to celebrate the anniversary of the first national Government.
