Cristiano Ronaldo Wins Ballon d’Or For Second Straight Year

Cristiano Ronaldo has won the 2014 Ballon d’Or which makes him the world’s best player for the second straight year. Ronaldo earned 37.66% of the votes beating out Lionel Messi with 15.76% of the votes and Bayern Munchi goalkeeper Manuel Neuer with 15.72% of the votes. After winning it in 2008, Rolando and Messi have been the only players to receive the award since then. Messi has earned the honor for four straight years from 2009 to 2012. Ronaldo set a record by scoring 17 goals in last season’s Champions League, helping Madrid win their 10th title.
