Nigel De Jong Cut From Holland Team Because Of Douchebaggery

Netherlands head coach Bert Van Marwijk announced  that he would not call up Manchester  City defender Nigel De Jong to the national squad after the player broke the leg of Newcastle’s Hatem Ben Arfa.

We have video below and it ain’t pretty.

This obscene tackle was enough for Van Marwijk to keep him off the squad. The Holland manager was quoted in The Guardian as saying:

The funny thing is that the referee did not even show a yellow card for it. Apparently, there are other standards. But I have a problem with the way Nigel needlessly looks to push the limit. I am going to speak to him.

You know what? Good for Van Marwijk for not rewarding dirty players. Make no mistake about it; De Jong is as dirty as you can get. The Dutch defender made a mark for himself (and on Spanish player Xabi Alonso’s chest) during the final of the 2010 World Cup. Amazingly, he got away with that too.
