Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Shape of Water’ Gets 13 Oscar Nominations



The Academy Awards nominations are out and Guillermo del Toro’s romantic horror film, “The Shape of Water,” received a leading 13 nominations. It was followed by “Dunkirk” with eight nominations, and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” with seven nominations.

This year there are nine best-picture nominees, The Shape of Water, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Lady Bird, Get Out, The Post, Dunkirk, Call Me By Your Name and Phantom Thread.

The Shape of Water with13 nominations includes Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Director,  Best Actress in a Leading Role, and a slew of technical and visual nominations.

The Shape of Water is set in the Cold War era where a mute janitor discovers a secret classified experiment and forms a relationship with an aquatic creature. 

The 90th Academy Awards will air live on March 4 and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Felicidades al director Mexicano, we will see how many statues he takes home.
