Donald Trump to End Special Protections For Salvadorans

The Trump administration’s decision to end special protection for about 200,000 Salvadoran Immigrants filled many Salvadoran families with fear, with the possibility that they may be deported.

El Salvador becomes the fourth country since Donald Trump took office to lose protection under the program that provides humanitarian relief for people whose countries are hit by earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, war and other disasters.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi called it “a heartbreaking blow to nearly a quarter of a million hard-working Salvadorans who are American in every way.”

So now all Salvadorians that fall under the protected status have until Sept. 9th, 2019 to leave the United States or face deportation.
