The Zika virus has spread through most parts of Latin America and the Caribbean pero no se preocupen que Sesame Street has joined the fight. That is right, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and Sesame Street has jointed forces to teach children how to avoid contracting the virus.

In two 30 second videos in Spanish, English and Portuguese, Elmo and Raya discuss ways to ward off mosquitoes. Raya tells kids the need to cover and seal all water containers avoiding stagnant water in buckets and small bowls. Sesame Street also created three printables to post around the house to help remind children to close screen windows, cover standing water and to wear long sleeves. Elmo and Raya’s message to kids, “if the mosquito doesn’t bite, goodbye Zika!” Ahora solo falta que hagan un para los adultos.
