Hubertus Von Hohenlohe’s Mariachi Ski Suit Is Pretty Epic

Mexican Alpine skier Hubertus Von Hohenlohe will be representing the cultural history of his home country at the Sochi Olympics with a specially designed Mariachi themed skiing suit. The outfit looks not unlike the specific mariachi outfits worn by Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, and Martin Short in the Three Amigos. Normally, Olympic skiers just wear suits with their country’s flags on them. But seeing as Hubertus is the only Mexican at the Sochi games he can kind of do whatever he wants. Hubertus is one of those guys that sounds made up but happens to be very real. For one thing, he’s a prince. Like, a for real prince of German descent who was born in Mexico City. He’s also a singer that performs under the names…wait for it…Andy Himalaya and Royal Disaster. He’s also wickedly good-looking. If the Dos XX Most Interesting Man in the World was real and a skier instead of just a guy who bangs chicks and drinks beer, he’d be Hubertus Von Hohenlohe.   This will probably be Hubertus’ last Olympics. At 55, he’s the second oldest person ever to compete at the Winter Olympics. He’s already been to the Olympics six times and has yet to finish better than 26th. Will Hubertus beat the odds and medal this time? Maybe. Either way it will be beyond awesome to watch a guy in a mariachi suit skiing down a mountain in Russia. It is a strange and wonderful world that we live in, mi amigos.
