Jennifer Lopez New Video “I Luh Ya Papi” Objectifies Men

Jennifer Lopez’s new video for the goofily named song “I Luh Ya PaPi” turns the tables on the objectification of women common in most rap videos. J-Lo herself has often been a sex object in her early days but it appears that those times are over. The video starts with the director pitching ideas for her next video. J-Lo and her dancers point out that if she were a guy there would be no discussion about what the video would be. She would be on a yacht and a mansion with half naked chicks. So, they flip the old tropes on their head and have muscular half naked dudes sexily washing whips and drinking champagne on a boat. It’s sort of a refreshing change of pace if, er, not exactly what I’d prefer to see. Still, it’s got J-Lo looking smoking hot and wearing the outfit she wore to the 2000 Grammys.
