Do Latinos Age at Slower Rate Than Other Ethnicities?

In the quest to find the fountain of youth, we always seem to see a new age defying cream or a new diet that claims to keep you young. Parece que los científicos may have found the answer and no its not something that you can buy. A new study shows that Latinos age at a slower rate then individuals of other ethnicities.

Steve Horvath, lead author and professor of human genetics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles, said in a news release. “Our study helps explain this by demonstrating that Latinos age more slowly at the molecular level. Latinos live longer than Caucasians, despite experiencing higher rates of diabetes and other diseases.”
That explains why my 80 year old tia conchis looks like she is 60.

Researchers used 18 sets of data in DNA samples from nearly 6,000 people from seven ethnicities, including African Americans, Caucasians, Asians, Latinos and indigenous people genetically related to Latinos called the Tisane. Y que creen que encontrarón? Scientists noticed that the blood of Latinos and the indigenous group aged more slowly than the others. This is a great news now I can stop buying all the expensive creams and just let my Latino DNA do the work.
