Club America vs Club Leon FC for the Liga MX Apertura 2013 Finals

As the top seed and defending champion Club America gets ready to face off against Club Leon in the Liga MX Apertura 2013 Finals. Club America is looking to be the only second team to repeat as the Liga MX Champions since Mexico switched to the two-season format.

Club America down 2-1 on the aggregated scoreline had to beat Toluca by a score of 1 – 0 to advance.  Early in the game,  Club America took the lead with a header goal from a corner kick.

With another corner kick goal Club America was able to secure a ticket to the finals and a chance to win their 12th league title in club history.

Club Leon made it to the finals by defeating Santos Laguna. In the second half of the game, Santos scored a goal pulling within one goal of advancing but Club Leon took control of the game and scored two goals and the game ended in a 2 -2 tie with Club Leon advancing with an aggregated scoreline of 5-3.

The much hated Club America, for always having the best players and constantly winning, will face off against Club Leon, a historic team that has a chance to return to it’s glory days.  These finals are going to be very fun to watch for all futbol fans since both teams play a similar style of futbol which may turn the finals into a high scoring game.

The finals will be on held on Thursday December 12th in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico at  Nou Camp stadium and Sunday 15th in Mexico City at Azteca stadium.
