Make Some Puerto Rican Coquito Instead Of Egg Nog This Christmas

When I was a kid my aunt would make coquito for us to swizzle at Christmastime. I had it virgin as a child but now that I’m a grown ass man, I’ll have it with rum, thank you very much. Even though we’re Cuban she spent a few years in Puerto Rico and picked up the recipe. If possible it is even richer than egg nog and it packs a punch. A small glass is plenty. Or not. Drink up a big glass or a 7-11 Big Gulp, I don’t own you. Do what you want. Just know that if this doesn’t get you in the Christmas spirit, nothing will.

  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups (1 15 oz can) cream of coconut (like Coco Lopez)
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • ⅛ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1½ cup white rum
  • cinnamon sticks for garnish

Enjoy, amigos!
