Mexico Born Law Professor Chosen For California Supreme Court

California Gov. Jerry Brown recently nominated Mariano-Florentino Cuellar to the California Supreme Court.

Cuellar was born in Matamoros, Mexico, and for years crossed the border by foot to attend school in Texas. He finally moved with his family to the Imperial Valley when he was 14. He late went on to get a law degree from Yale Law School and a doctorate in political science from Stanford University. If that was not enough, he served President Bill Clinton at the U.S. Treasury Department and became a law professor at Stanford University before being nominated for the California Supreme Court. Talk about a success story, this is a great example of how an immigrant from south of the border can come to this country and work hard to become a success story. Its to bad that many so called “American’s” just cant see that and a few bad apples does not help either.
