Mexico’s Roster Named For The World Cup

As the 2014 World Cup draws closer, Mexico’s official 23 man roster has been announced.

There were very few surprises from Mexico’s head coach, Miguel Herrera, who selected the roster, Carlos Salcido, Javier “Chicharito” Hernández and Giovani dos Santos headlining the squad.

Also 4 players from the current liga MX champions, Club León, were selected for the national team which include, Rafael Márquez, José Juan “Gallito” Vázquez, Carlos “Gullit” Peña y Luis Montes. One player that the Americans should take note is the midfielder Issaac Brizuela. Brizuela was born in San Jose California, and considered playing for the US national team before being called by Mexico.

With these talented players, Mexico has high hopes in the World cup. We will see if el Tri can overcome the challenges it faces as Brazil,one of the favorites to win it all, is in the same group with Mexico in the 2014 World Cup.
