Remembering The Great Chespirito

Roberto Gomez Bolanos, the iconic Mexican comedian, who defined a generation of million of Latin American children passed away at the age of 85. Known as “Chespirito”, he changed comedy in Latin America, taking his inspiration from Laurel and Hardy and Cantinflas. Chespirito played several characters, but his two most famouse and most loved were El Chavo del Ocho and El Chapulin Colorado. El Chavo del Ocho who despite being a homeless boy that lived in a barrel, was always happy and joyfull skipping around bringing joy the millions of kids. El Chavo was so popular that to this day you can see reruns in multiple countries in Latin America and the United States.

El Chauplin Colorado, a goofy superhero in a red bodysuit and hood with antennae that helped him detect danger miles away, really did not have any super powers but could fight crime in a slap stick way. Roberto Gomez Bolanos was a true legend not only for Mexico but for Latin America. His legacy will live on for many more generations to enjoy his work. Veia su programa desde niña y sera un gran recuerdo que siempre me llevare por toda la vida. Descansa en paz Chespirito.
