Republican Congressional Candidate Changes His Name To Cesar Chavez

Failed Arizona congressional GOP candidate Scott Fistler has come up with a new idea to win when he runs for the House of Representatives: He changed his name to Cesar Chavez. Like, the famous labor leader and human rights activist Cesar Chavez. Mind you, Fistler isn’t Latino but the 7th congressional district he’s running for is heavily Latino. In order to further appeal to his potential constituents he also changed political parties. He further put pictures on his website of people marching with signs supporting Chavez. The only problem was that the Chavez the people in the photo were campaigning for wasn’t Fistler/Chavez but the late Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez. When asked why he changed his name to that of the great labor leader, Fistler said,

“It’s almost as simple as saying Elvis Presley is running for president. You wouldn’t forget it, would you? People want a name that they can feel comfortable with. If you went out there running for office and your name was Bernie Madoff, you’d probably be screwed.”

Ummm…I know that name recognition is important but this is going a bit too far. How desperate is this guy to get elected? What this move clearly shows is that he thinks that Latinos are morons. Does he think that they are going to go to the ballot box and believe that somehow the ghost of Cesar Chavez has returned to Earth to run for congress? I predict that he not only loses the election but loses big time. He’d better be careful now that his name is legally Cesar Chavez. If he gets stopped by the cops he could be deported under Arizona state law.

Also, he needs to stop wearing that stupid hat. He looks like the D&D playing dork that always wore a fedora to class in high school and smelled like bologna and BO.
