Shia LaBeouf Wears A Paper Bag On His Head At Berlin Film Festival

Shia LaBeouf continued his recent string of bizarre behavior by wearing a paper bag over his head and storming out of a press conference at the Berlin Film Festival. He was there to promote Lars Von Trier’s semi-pornographic film Nymphomaniac. It started when he showed up to the Nymphomaniac press conference looking like a homeless dock worker. When a reporter asked Shia what it was like to work in a movie with so much sex, he answered by quoting soccer legend Eric Cantona, “When the seagulls follow the trawler, it’s because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.” Whatever that is supposed to mean is beyond me. He then got up and stormed out of the press conference. Shia proceeded to show up to the red carpet opening of the film wearing a paper bag over his head that said “I’m not famous anymore” written on it with a Sharpie.

LaBeouf has been acting really friggin’ weird lately. It began when he made a short that blatantly plagiarized comic book artist Dan Clowes’ work. He then apologized by skywriting an apology in the skies over LA, (even though Clowes lives in San Francisco). He, again tried to plagiarize another Clowes story before he was sent a cease and desist letter by Clowes’ lawyer. He got in a Twitter battle with Lena Dunham over his continued plagiarism and answered by plagiarizing Lena Dunham back to her. Then Shia got into a bar fight in London and ended up head butting someone. Shia claims that this is all just performance art and that he’s, like, trying to, like, prove a point about, like art and celebrity and stuff. He announced that he was retiring and insisted that he was no longer famous. Maybe it is all an act or maybe he has a stint in rehab in the near future. Either way it’s entertaining watching the little weasel implode. Does that make me a jerk?
