Spain Giving Away Free Villages

It’s no secret that Spain’s economy has seen better days. The country’s current unemployment rate is over 25%, which is roughly four times higher than Alabama’s unemployment rate. That’s right. Spain, a country with a rich and storied history, is doing worse than Alabama, the state that invented beer can wind-chimes and above ground pools. To freshen up Spain’s image, Mayor Avelino Luis De Francisco Martinez is giving away an abandoned 15th century village to anyone willing to restore the crumbling structures. Just imagine how cool it would be to hit on a woman at a bar by saying, “let’s get out of here and go back to my own village.”
