This Week On Being Latino: Fighting The Hangover


Being Latino, the largest Latino community on Facebook, is a communication platform designed to educate and connect all peoples across the global Latino spectrum. They also have a fascinating online magazine. Every week, we’ll be highlighting a story we feel you should read.

We like to party. Who doesn’t. What we don’t like, however, is the morning after. For us, the day after usually means waking up in some random person’s house, not wearing any pants, and, of course, the worst hangover in the history of mankind. Next time, however, we’re going to fight back with the helpful tips found in this great Being Latino story written by Adriana Villavicencio. Among the helpful information is this tidbit:

“Eat Some FAT: Prior to the night’s parranda (or during), eat a balanced meal that includes protein and fat. These take longer to digest than simple carbs and will slow down the absorption of alcohol in your body. Try to incorporate a glass of milk with this meal for the same reason. Or a chocolate shake for all three.”

An excuse to eat some fatty foods? Yes, please!
