This Week On Being Latino: Puerto Rican Day Parade & Junot Diaz

Being Latino, the largest Latino community on Facebook, is a communication platform designed to educate and connect all peoples across the global Latino spectrum. They also have a fascinating online magazine. Every week, we’ll be featuring stories we feel you should read.

This weekend is the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade: a day of much celebration, revelry, and insane times for New York City’s Puerto Rican community. Being Latino’s copy editor Eileen Rivera writes about the festival with more authority than we could possibly have.

Junot Diaz, writer of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Brief And Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, sits down with our friends and talks to them about many things. Amongst them, being a Latino man.
