This Week On “Being Latino”: The Latino’s War In Iraq & Is Messi Best Ever?

Being Latino, the largest Latino community on Facebook, is a communication platform designed to educate and connect all peoples across the global Latino spectrum. They also have a fascinating online magazine. Every week, we’ll be featuring one or two stories we feel you should read.

The war in Iraq is finally over after nearly nine years and over 4,400 U.S. casualties. But what about the Latino factor? How does this near-decade long conflict play into the Latino narrative? Being Latino staff writer Daniel Cubias explores what the war meant to us.

On a more lighthearted note, Cris Rubio makes the very strong case that Lionel Messi is the best footballer in the world. We agree. He also begins to speculate where he would fall in the “Greatest of All Time” conversation. Our guess is somewhere in the top five for sure.
