Tu Vez Spanglish Dictionary Word Of The Day: Cuquear

Cuquear

Verb: This abomination comes from the English word cooking mixed with the familiar -ear ending denoting an action. The correct word is cocinar. If you know that a kitchen is a cocina, then why would would you say you are cuquiando? Wouldn’t make more sense to say you are COCINANDO in the COCINA? Think people.

EX: “Yo estoy cuquiando una cena muy buena. Cerebro de mono en una salsa de tomate.”

TR: “I am cooking a very nice meal. Monkey brains in a tomato sauce.”

EX: “A mi me gusta cuquear, especialmente desnudo. Pero no friendo.”

TR: “I like to cook, especially when naked. But not frying.”
