Guy Who Started Morelia-Cruz Azul Brawl Speaks Out

Octavio Perez Muñoz, the guy who invaded the pitch during the Morelia-Cruz Azul match and subsequently started the brawl, finally spoke out. Muñoz was released by the authorities after paying a fine of 30 pesos, the equivalent of about $2.50. So, basically, the brawl cost Cruz Azul keeper Jose de Jesus Corona his spot on the Mexican national team and the first six games of the next tournament, whereas it cost this guy less then a cup of coffee. Ridiculous. The real kicker, however, is that Octavio Perez Muñoz was–operative word here being “was”– a fan of Cruz Azul and not, as we mistakenly mentioned before, a Morelia supporter.
