Landon Donovan Wins MLS Cup For L.A. Galaxy With Goal

The Houston Dynamo and the Los Angeles Galaxy faced off on Sunday night for the sixteenth (16! has it really been that long?) edition of the MLS Cup. The Galaxy dominated much of the match but weren’t able to capitalize until the 72nd minute. Robbie Keane and David Beckham, the two biggest foreign-born players for the Angelino club, were instrumental in setting up the game-winning goal for Landon Donovan.

This is the Galaxy’s third title ever and the first of the David Beckham era, which I think we can all agree was a resounding success. Beckham, who joined the team in 2007, reaches the end of his 5-year, $32.5 millon contract.
