During a Colombian league match between Equidad and Nacional, a lighting bolt scared the living crap out of the players on the pitch. Although the bolt didn’t strike the pitch itself (it hit a lightning rod on the side of the stadium), the footballers immediately jumped to the pitch, terrified for their well-being. No one was hurt, which is good, but if the weather’s that bad, wouldn’t it make sense to postpone or cancel the match? Then again, that might just be too logical of a solution.

Hey, it is less than 2 years ago that a pro soccer player in Denmark, Europe got struck by lightning during a match, loosing a leg and almost his life. So of cause pro soccer players around the world are still scared about playing during lightning storms, but they cannot leave the pitch until the referee ends the match officially.
