The Border Patrol Burrito

Not entirely sure why, but this story strikes me as odd and fascinating. Univision News reports on how Tacho’s Tacos in Bisbee, Arizona– a border town–has named an item on their menu after the surging presence of border patrol agents.

As someone who grew up in a border town– Hidalgo, a predominantly Hispanic place located in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley– U.S. Border Patrol agents were always seen as outsiders despite the fact that most of them were from the region (and Latino themselves).  I think the irregular feeling I get from this story stems from the dichotomy of a group of people enjoying the food of those that they detain.
