Selena Remembered 23 Years After Death

Today marks the 23rd anniversary of Selena tragic death in 1995. Selena is known as the “Queen of Tejano” music and was named Billboard’s “Best Selling Latin Artis of the Decade” in the 90’s which she sold 18 million records worldwide. Selena as one of the first artist to successfully cross over form a Spanish to an English platform. She will be remembered as being a humble person and will be recognized for hits, “Como La Flor,” “El Chico Del Apartamento 512,” and “Dreaming of You.”

Since then, her legacy has lived on for 23 years. She was posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017. A baby book was created based on her life. A Texas grocery chain sold reusable bags with her image in 2018. Mac cosmetics also launched a highly coveted Selena makeup line in 2016. And Google celebrated Selena with her very own Google Doodle.
