The “Angry Birds” Peace Summit

If you are like us, you are always on the lookout for new ways to procrastinate. Few things have led to more wasted time in recent memory than “Angry Birds,” an iPhone (and Android) game in which the titular Angry Birds try to get their eggs back from weird green pig creatures. This popular game has consistently been one of the iTunes app store’s biggest sellers. Now, it’s also a very entertaining puppet video. In this clip from the Israeli TV show Eretz Nehederet (A Wonderful Country), the Pigs and the Angry Birds sit down to try and hash out a peace treaty.

It’s funny that this comes from Israel given that they have spent the last 60 years failing to create peace with their Palestinian neighbors. The real question in this avian/swine allegory, however is this: Who are the Angry Birds and who are the green pig creatures? Also, were the creators of this video aware that neither Muslims nor Jews can eat pork? So many questions, very little answers! What does it all mean!?
