Stormtroopers Find Romance In Spanish Short “Love Wars”

As any regular Tu Vez reader knows, we are huge nerds that are massively into Star Wars. We belong to a certain generation that was shaped by the phenomenon. It is interesting though, how as you get older you notice things you missed as a kid. For instance, until we saw the movie “Clerks”, we’d never thought about all the poor roofers, plumbing guys, and other workers that had been hired to re-build the Death Star that also got blown up at the end of “Return of the Jedi”. Did they just pick up a bunch of Alderaanian day laborers outside of the galactic Home Depot? What about the ladies that worked in the Death Star cafeteria? And then we think about what life must have been like on the Death Star. Let’s face it, it is a bit of a sausage fest. The one woman that was ever brought on board was tortured and thrown in prison. Is there anywhere on the Death Star that someone can find…love?

In this great Spanish short, “Love Wars”, two stormtroopers discuss the difficulties of hiding their illicit love affair from the Empire while the battle of Yavin IV happens outside. We guess the Empire has a “don’t ask don’t tell” policy. It’s like “Brokeback Mountain”, except with stormtroopers. Can you repel love power of this magnitude?
