What Is Brazil’s Cachaça?

Well, it’s Friday. You made it through another week. And now you’re looking for the perfect booze to ruin your weekend. Well, our good buddies at the Wall Street Journal were kind enough to take time out of their busy schedule to get drunk on cachaça, one of Brazil’s most famous spirits. Cachaça- pronounced kah-SHAH-sah – is made from sugarcane juice, though originally Brazilian fishermen claimed that the alcohol was given to them by the “boto”, which is are enchanted dolphins known to live in the waters just off Brazil’s coast. It’s like I’ve always said, the party doesn’t start until the enchanted dolphins show up.
